A Tenerife woman has been jailed for two years for stabbing her former partner in a bar, because he would not stop pestering her after their separation.

Despite a restraining order, which was imposed on him by a judge, the harassment continued. The ex boyfriend, with whom she had children, was stalking her as well as making anonymous phone calls to her mobile. The woman felt she had no alternative but to take the law into her own hands and stabbing him twice in the bar.

Witnessing the incident was an off-duty policeman who managed to take the knife off her and hold her until a patrol arrived to take her into custody.
